Frequently asked questions about our services
Do you offer book printing services?
Yes, we offer book printing services for all types of books and booklets in black and white and colour from ultra short run digital book printing to longer run litho book printing. Binding styles include saddle-stitched, sewn, notched and PUR bound products. We can also produce hardback books with foil stamping on the front and / or spine, jacketed or paper case versions with printed or coloured endpapers and head and tail bands.
How should I supply my files to you for typesetting?
The best method to supply your text is in Microsoft Word with any illustrations supplied in tiff or jpeg format. Indicate in the Microsoft Word file where you would like the pictures positioned. We will design your book in the agreed trim size, font size and margins that you require and send you PDF proofs before supplying with you the final print ready files.
For designing a cover, paper case cover or book jacket please supply any images as jpeg or tiff with any wording that you require for the front, spine, back and flaps with any brief on how you might want this presented or leave the design up to us and we will do everything for you. We will liaise with you very closely to ensure that the book is presented for the best impact.
Do you supply ISBNs?
Remember that you only need an ISBN if you are planning to sell your book through retail outlets. If your book is for private publication or for distribution to family and friends then you don’t need an ISBN. We can supply an ISBN for each edition of your book at a price of £30 +VAT. This will include supplying a barcode for your cover. Alternatively If you would like to obtain an ISBN yourself we can lead you through the process of contacting the ISBN agency. The process takes about two weeks and will cost you £126 for a set of 10 numbers. We will still create the barcode for your cover if you choose this method.

Testimonials
Once again, an excellent and professional job - thanks ever so much. Very pleased with the appearance of the finished product. Peter Bolwell. April 2013 Nigel Mitchell was faced with a book that presented many technical difficulties (poetry and prose, footnotes, diagrams bibliography). His endless and painstaking attention to detail could not have been more patient or good-natured.. The book is a pleasure to both read and handle. I strongly recommend his professionalism, he was a pleasure to deal with, in every way. Philippa Rees. February … Read more ...
